P2Green is about transforming nutrient flows within the food supply chain from a linear to a circulatory process. This approach fitted in perfectly with the theme of the congress, as innovative solutions and adaptation strategies against climate change were presented and discussed, as in P2Green. Insights into current scientific, technological and social approaches to tackling climate change were the focus of the event.
The aim of P2Green is to produce safe, bio-based agricultural fertilizers from urine, excrement and wastewater and thus develop an innovative closed-loop system. Anita Beblek from agrathaer GmbH (lead) and Dipl.-Geogr. Andreas Obersteg from HafenCity Hamburg GmbH (project partner) reported on the background, previous success stories and prospects.
