What it’s about:
The event is part of the series “Öko-Praxistage Brandenburg – Mehr Wissen über Öko” on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Climate. It is aimed at farmers who would like to find out more about how agroforestry can be combined with organic farming. First, the German Association for Agroforestry (Deutscher Fachverband für Agroforstwirtschaft e.V.) will explain the basics of agroforestry with a focus on the promotion of biodiversity and the special conditions for the establishment and management of agroforestry systems in organic farming. The practicability will be deepened by presenting the possibilities of agroforestry promotion in Brandenburg. In addition, the experience of planting hedges for the establishment of agroforestry systems will be consulted and the selection of woody plants will be highlighted through the presentation of the organic tree nursery, thus demonstrating ecological perspectives for farms. The day will be rounded off with an excursion to an agroforestry system at the Düpow farm, passing a hedgerow plantation on the way and visiting the certified organic tree nursery BaumFeldWerk.
