Project Goal

In their role as role models, public procurement and catering institutions, such as school canteens, have a strong interest in promoting sustainability in their field. As drivers of innovation, they can collaborate with small and medium-sized enterprises and promote the regional economy. However, there is often a lack of suitable structures, suppliers for sustainable procurement, learning opportunities, practical examples, and existing uncertainties in the implementation of procurement guidelines.

In the StratKIT project, the current situation of the sector in the Baltic Sea region, existing problems, and practical examples are first recorded. Based on the collected approaches, development paths are created for various stakeholder groups (administration, SMEs, etc.). These are further developed into easy-to-use recommendations for action for the professional sector, the “BSR Sustainability Toolkit,” in collaboration with the stakeholders. At the same time, national and international stakeholder networks are established, and a comprehensive knowledge platform on sustainability in public catering is built.

agrathaer is involved in all tasks of the StratKIT project. We are mainly responsible for target group-specific dissemination of project results, particularly through a project website including a knowledge platform and the development of stakeholder networks. For this purpose, we will organize three stakeholder workshops in the region, conduct surveys, carry out a pilot test, and initiate a national network. In doing so, we collaborate with the Consumer Protection Ministry of the State of Brandenburg, our associated partner.
